Introduction

The wait is over.

Ever since Skype and Whatsapp for Symbian^3 stopped working, dozens of people have sought either a way to revive these apps or for a replacement. But after discovering working Flash embed points for social media connections for Skype and Whatsapp long thought to be dead, Skype and Whatsapp are finally back via Flash.

This software was designed to be ran on Symbian^3 smartphones but it can theoretically be run on any Flash capable device.

Download

Download it now and try it for yourself. Make sure you read the included readme file before starting it up. A copy of which can be found below the download link.

Before attempting to run either program, extract the folder within the .zip file you downloaded to a location on your phone. Before you launch either Skype or Whatsapp from the default Symbian file browser, please make sure your phone is either connected to a Wi-Fi network or has an available 3G data connection. When you launch both of the .swf files for the first time, you will receive some pop up messages. The first one will say 'Allow application to access domain? Application will be restarted. Tap Yes The next message will say 'Flash content error: 7' Tap OK Both of these messages can be dismissed and won't re-appear the next time you launch either Skype or Whatsapp. You may also receive a message saying 'Allow Flash content to establish network connection?' Tap Yes

Running it on a computer

As this software is made in Adobe Flash which can easily run on a variety of platforms, I have decided to include copies of the Standalone Adobe Flash Player for Windows and Macintosh which you can use to open the .swf files included in the main download. I decided not to include a copy for GNU+Linux since it only runs with limited functionality but you can try it if you want to.
